My name is Codney Capron Jr. and I was born in Grand Turk on the 14th of February 1986. Native to this beautiful country i grew up in a small local community called Blue Hills, in Providenciales. I received my primary education at the Enid Capron Primary School located in Provo and my secondary education at The British West Indies Collegiate and at the Clement Howell High School also located in Provo.
Blue Hills being right on the water, is what really got me into the fishing. I would sneak out of the house everyday just to throw a line off the beach. I would always meet up with a few friend and we would catch tons of snappers, cowfish, shadbar also know as sand perch and flounder.
My last two years of high school I took a part time job from a friend of my mom, called Geoffrey Adams. They operated a sport fishing company called Gwendolyn. He had a 45 ft Hatteras that was also named Gwendolyn and offered me a part time job as the mate whilst I was on vacations from school. After graduating high school, although I still loved to fish, I strayed away from the fishing and started working a the bank of Nova Scotia located in Provo. There I was approached by Mr. Adams offering me a full time job as the captain of his 45ft hatteras Gwendolyn.
Starting my professional fishing career in 2007, I started as a mate while training to be the captain. By 2008 I had stepped up in stripes from mate to captain. Ever since becoming a captain I have grown to be one of the best in the Turks and Caicos Islands and have built a very good reputation for myself. Yellow fin tuna, black fin tuna, dolphin also known as mahi mahi or dorado, blue and white marlin, and the two speedsters the wahoo and sail fish, are just a few to add to the list of fish that you can catch in our majestic deep blue waters. I have caught some of the biggest fish that as ever been caught and weighed her in the TCI.
In 2008 Mr. Adams sold the boat to Geoffrey Thomasson. I have been employed by them for nine years. I now work for Provo Sand and Sea Tours where I am the captain of a 48 ft ocean express called Spinning Reels.
Over the past 12 years of fishing these beautiful waters of the Turks and Caicos I have placed in my of the local tournaments winning the first ever Wine Cellar Fishing and Golf Tournament, and placing in the top 3 ever since, I can say that my reputation has only gotten better. I invite you to join us at Provo Sand and Sea Tours where we have much to offer. Everything from the flats, to the reef, to the majestic deep blue, I’m sure we can please you and meet you expectations as we have the best to offer in boats and crew.
